Project Description

Any rudder shaft has a certain degree of deflection under load. In many cases this shaft deflection will carry highly concentrated loads if the bearings are not self-aligning.
In the case of smooth bearings (without rollers), the friction generated can even, in extreme cases, lead to the rudder locking.
Jefa self-aligning roller bearings solve the problem and ensure optimum tiller smoothness and sensitivity in all situations, thus allowing for the use of a less gear-intensive steering system.
They also greatly simplify the work on site, as there is a greater tolerance for alignment, as well as a certain elasticity in the hull-coverage union.
Jefa bearings are machined from solid EN6082 aluminum, black anodized to thickness. The hemispherical articulation is made of Delrin, as are the self-contained rollers.
All diameters are available, from millimetre to millimetre. This allows, for example, to use a 89mm bearing for a turned axis from a rough 90mm bar.

Self-aligning composite lower bearing type 6T000:

The 6T000 series of bearings combines ease of installation with particularly smooth operation in all circumstances, as the bearing is always aligned with the rudder shaft. The bearing is made of PETP (also known as Arnite, Ertalyte, Sustodur & Ultradur) inserted into a GRP tube. This allows direct lamination in the hull. For further information please refer to the installation guide on our website.

Lower composite bearing type 61000 and 61000S:

The series of bearings type 61000 and 61000S combines the great ease of installation with a particularly smooth operation in all circumstances.
The bearing is made of PETP (also known as Arnite, Ertalyte, Sustodur & Ultradur) inserted inside a GRP tube, which allows direct lamination in the hull. For further information please refer to the installation guide on our website.
